We belong together

Chapter 3

First hour in school and I've already been embarrassed. And this is probably the first time in my life time, I feel like a looser. The 'looser' brand is new to me; sure I wasn’t the most popular, the prettiest or the perfect cheerleader type back at home. But I had my friends, my goofy close friends. And my adoring boyfriend, Chad. But those were the only people that I cared for. And I'm a loyal person and friend; I keep my dear friends close. Question is, how do I do that when they are miles away? I feel so powerless. I'm not supposed to be here, I don’t belong here! I feel so lonely here and there's no one to talk to. I know this is my first day, and you are probably thinking I should give it more chances. But it doesn’t seem like it's going to change for a while. I could have made a great first impression. But I didn’t. I couldn’t.

Oh and don’t get me started with Brittany. For some reason she has something against me. Or she has something against people that aren’t blonde bimbos.

I've made up my mind! I'm wasting my time here! As soon as I get home and have a chance to confront my father I'll make sure he knows how I feel. And I'll also make sure that I'll be back home before this week! I can’t stay here ...

I felt a sudden pain on my forehead.

'' Ooow '' I said rubbing my forehead. Lost in my thoughts, I had bumped into someone.

'' Sorry '' a dark voice said apologising.

I looked up and I found myself admiring Jesse. His blue eyes were glittering, and he had a silly smile on his face. This was kind of embarrassing. I've had paint splattered all over me and he was there to witness it. And now , I just bumped into him. Gosh, I must look like a fool just asking for trouble.

'' You alright? '' He asked, half serious and half laughing. I relaxed and re-assured it was OK. For a second I thought he was going to snap at me

and push me away. I don’t know why, he just looks like that type of guy. He's handsome - sand brown hair with blonde highlights, nice lips and adorable eyes. But the really good-looking guys usually tend to be the worst. You know the notorious players. Not saying Chad is not good-looking, he's in fact adorable! But, he's not a Jesse. I'll admit that.

'' Yes. I'm whole " I joked. For some reason my body went tense and I began to feel all nervous. I'm hoping he's not thinking I just embarrassed myself.

I'm also hoping he's thinking I look decent. I can’t explain it, but I just stopped thinking. I just let the moment happen - It was quite between us for a minute, and we just stood still, silent, gazing at each other. It was magical in many ways, and I could feel a tingling sensation in my stomach. Almost the same feeling I felt when Chad and I last kissed. It wasn’t as magical and pleasing, but for a him and I to be complete strangers (well, almost strangers. I've been in the same class with him for an hour) it was amazing.

'' Yo , Jesse ! ”

A tall guy screamed from across hallway '' Are you gonna play ball? "

He looked at me and smiled '' Well, see you later ''

'' Yes '' I answered, feeling pleased.

''We're in the same class '' I quickly added, but before he heard me had already walked away.
