Tales of Insanity: The Door.
|
Aaron went to go lie on his bed. It was an exhausting day at school! He simply could not believe how stressed he was! His science teacher, Mr. Marcos, had told him, that he should spend more time doing his homework, instead of writing useless stories! On top of that, he had 5 other classes to do homework for. And it didn't help that his mom bothered him to improve his grades! It was like telling a baby to stop crying to him.
Now Aaron, was a very intelligent, athletic young man. He always tried his best and was normally one of the top in the class! But all this homework he had, he just couldn't handle it! He let out a large sigh. He was back in his room the one place he felt secure...isolated from the world! It was a small room on the bottom floor with one door and one, large window. The rest of his family slept upstairs. The bamboo shade blocked his view of the side yard and most of the sunlight. He had his door closed and switched off all the lights. He liked it dark. He wasn't afraid. It gave him more of a sense of separation and hidden from everyone. He felt unique with the idea of being the only one in his life being the only one who would rather stay in the dark, than the light.
He took his laptop and rested it upon his breast. He switched his iTunes onto a nice classical song. He then went to one of his favorite sites: testriffic.com. He went to go write a story. He enjoyed writing stories. Especially ones that scared people. He was just starting a series called "Maniac Minds." He pondered for a short bit on what his first story would be. His mind throbbed as each new idea proposed a new story. One in particular caught his attention. He immediately pressed the keys and stared at his title with satisfaction.
"Maniac Minds: The Door."
After a few moments of grinning he began typing his story. But after the first few paragraphs, he noticed something on the corner of his right eye. On the opposite end of his room, he noticed a shadow blocking the light creeping into his dark room from under his bedroom door. As if it was suddenly consumed by the blackness. Aaron knew one thing every time this occurred...something was outside the door.
'Perhaps it's mom,' he thought. But nobody turned the knob. No one knocked. No one said to him it was time to go back to work. He stared at the small opening and realized, 'Pfft. It's probably the dog.' So, without worries, he continued back to his story.
For about fifteen minutes he typed. And for fifteen minutes the shadow waited, beyond his door. He began to type his next paragraph when he was startled by a pound on his door. It ringed in his ears and Aaron stared at the door, eyes wide open. He was frozen by a chill that came from the ringing of his ears and tingled his lips. After a few seconds, he went back to work, puzzled.
But the moment he took his eyes off the door, the shadow swept away. It left quickly, but it was so quiet, it was eerie. He looked back at his laptop and realized the shadow was outside his window! Then the door started pounding repetitively.
Aaron was now terrified! He didn't know which to fear most...the shadow, or the machine-like thumping at his door. The sound was as if a mechanic took a jackhammer to his door!
Finally gathering enough strength to move, he stumbled for his top drawer and yanked out the old, black-powder pistol his dad gave him. He knew it had a broken spring in the hammer and would not fire, but it was the best he had! The banging stopped and Aaron cocked the pistol at the phantom in the window.
Silence...
Aaron felt like it was safe, but he held his hand...ready. A resounding moan filled the house and Aaron thought it was going to collapse! The phantom crouched and flung itself through the window! Glass shattered through the air as Aaron caught a glimpse at a dark, bat-like creature. It hissed terribly and it's long, thin limbs went to grapple Aaron!
He closed his eyes, and fired a shot! It worked! But he only heard four things after this. The first was the booming of the copper round he shot. The second was the ear-splitting shriek of the creature. The third was the remains of glass hitting the floor. And the fourth was the sound of his lungs gasping for air!
He awoke to find himself, back in his bed. His laptop still on his chest. But he was amazed to find that he had typed everything he had just experienced! Frightening still, was that his hands were still typing! Even as he sat there just looking, his hands were describing everything he was feeling, seeing and thinking. He was horrified!
The door pounded once, then it burst open! Flames emitted from the hinges and locks. From the cloud of fire, a figure stepped forth from a black cloud as dark as night. He wore pitch-dark armor and eyes as red as blood.
His fingers were still typing and wouldn't allow him to stop! He stared at the giant who bellowed a madman's laugh. Aaron screamed and kicked his feet! His body moved here and there, but the hands clutched the keys and kept him pinned down.
The figure began opening his large mouth. It's teeth were bloodstained and they came closer to Aaron's head. As he struggled, the last thing he saw was...
WORDS ARE NOT SEEN IN DARKNESS! DARKNESS FEEDS ON NO FEELING, NO PAIN, NO LOVE. ONLY DEATH.
He screamed one last time. As he saw a familiar face. He...

Sorry, I bit into this boys head! He couldn't stop moving. His hands just fluttered, pressing random letters until I moved them. Let me introduce myself. My name is Marcosalium. I am a demon of fear. I terrorize and confuse the mind. I eat the words of others, as I did Aaron's. Of course, I don't think he recognized me in the end. I mean, who would've suspected that Mr. Marcos, a science teacher at a highschool was a demon! But now this story is done. And for Aaron, this is...
...The End
