Bryce was now slowly pacing his living room with a confused look “This can’t be happening.” He thought to himself and then Bryce’s pace began to speed up with every step he took. After mumbling several times to himself, Bryce decided he would ask Clair. So, he quickly pulled out his phone and dialed the number. “Hey!” Clair chirped in a hyper tone. Bryce made a confused look at Clair’s attitude, but shrugged it off “Okay, I need some help.” Bryce announced and then silence took over. “You need my help?” Clair asked emphasizing the words: you and my. “Yes.” Bryce sighed as he began to pace once again. “With what?” Clair asked skeptically. Bryce remained calm and tried not to sound angry as he spoke “I need you to keep Maria away from me.” Bryce told her, as his pace came to halt once again. “Maria? You mean like super pretty, in love with you Maria?” Clair asked in a confused tone “Why?” she added after thinking for a moment. Bryce sighed “Because she’ll murder me if she finds out about Tessah and Tara.” Bryce answered with panic filling his voice. “Why…Wait, you didn’t, did you? Oh my god you did!” Clair responded in an annoyed, angry tone. “She’s not going to be too happy with you.” Clair said keeping her tone. Bryce’s panic was replaced with anger “Yea I know. That’s why I told you to keep her away.” Bryce snapped, annoyed with Clair. (Like always.) “Bryce, I can’t do that again. She’s gonna suspect something and go anyway. You know Maria; if she wants something she’ll get it, no matter what. And trust me, she’s gonna wanna see her boyfriend.” Clair said and the only response she got was a sigh. “Why don’t you just break up with her, instead of cheating on her?” Clair asked in a slightly confused tone. “Because…She’s different.” Bryce said in a slow, sad voice. He truly did love Maria, and everything about her, but there was something about her that he had never seen before…Love. “Bryce…Don’t hurt her, please.” Clair asked in a whisper. Bryce frowned and let out a sad sigh “Okay. I’ll tell Tessah and Tara and it’ll be just her.” Bryce explained in a caring tone. He didn’t want to lose the one thing he never had. “Bye BJ.” Clair said softly. Bryce smiled and hung up the phone.
“Why don’t you ever say good-bye?!” Clair yelled into the phone, annoyed with how he always left. Then she lightly placed her phone in the pocket of her jeans and sat down on her puffy, leather couch. Then she began to wait. An hour or so later a female with straight, light brown, shoulder length hair and lovely hazel eyes appeared with a brilliant smile. “Hey!” The female said in a friendly tone. Clair smiled at her friend “Hey Maria!” Clair said in a hyper tone as she looked Maria up and down. Maria had cut her normally curly hair so that it was shorter in the back and longer in the front and she now had bangs on the left side of her pale face. Her figure hadn’t changed and she was still as skinny as she was before. “So…Where can I put my bags?” Maria asked looking down at her two, black and white suit cases. Clair smiled at Maria “Here, I’ll show you where you’ll be staying.” Clair announced as she took one of the suit cases and headed up the spiral stairs, with Maria swiftly fallowing after her. “Here we are.” Clair told Maria as she entered a master bedroom only a few feet away from the spiral stairs. The room had light melon color walls and bright orange walls. “Uh…It’s nice.” Maria lied, not liking the bright colors one bit. Then she walked over to the white, queen sized bed and lightly sat on it. Clair smiled at Maria and rolled her black suit case next to the wooden computer desk that was placed against the wall. Maria then looked over to Clair with a confused look “Why aren’t there any windows in here?” She asked just now noticing that Clair’s house had no windows. Clair smiled “Bryce thought it would be cooler without windows.” She answered lightly and then extremely regretted bringing up the subject of Bryce. Maria was then a little confused “You let Bryce design your house?” She asked between laughs. Clair smiled, but didn’t laugh “Yea. So, anyway how are you?” Clair asked attempting to change the subject. Maria shrugged “To tell you the truth, I’ve really missed Bryce and now…I’m really glad I’m here because I have a surprise for him.” Maria told Clair with a large smile on her face. Clair faked a smile “Oh really?” She asked calmly and Maria’s smile grew larger “Yes,” Maria said and then paused “See, I’ve arranged some things and now. I can stay here.” Maria announced and looked at Clair, waiting for her reaction. Clair smiled “That’s wonderful!” Clair chirped not thinking about Bryce anymore. ‘He’ll be so happy!’ Clair thought to herself and then it came to her; Bryce isn’t going to talk to Tessah and Tara until…Tomorrow. “Speaking of Bryce…Where is he?” Maria asked confused on why he wouldn’t be there to greet her the moment she got here. “He uh, um…Got hungry.” Clair stuttered with a fake smile. Maria looked at Clair suspiciously, but decided she would sleep first and then see Bryce. After all, she was pretty tired. “Oh. Well I’m kinda tired. So, I think I’ll go to bed.” Maria yawned and then began to undo the perfectly folded bed. Clair nodded and then smoothly stepped out of the bedroom and let Maria rest.
Bryce woke up early in the morning and began his search for Tessah, which was once again very hard for him. Once he found her it was around noon and she was sitting in the park in front of the hotel. “Tessah,” Bryce said as he walked up to her. Tessah turned and glared at Bryce “Bryce.” She said coolly, which confused Bryce a little “I’m sorry for what I did to you, but I can’t go out with you or Tara.” Bryce said in a rushed tone. Tessah rolled her eyes at Bryce and then her face grew confused “Wait, your apologizing?” She asked confused and Bryce nodded “Yes. It was rude.” Bryce answered in the same tone and Tessah smiled “I have to go bye.” Bryce said quickly and then began to look for Tara. It was fairly easy for Bryce to find Tara and once he did he repeated what he said to Tessah in the same hurried tone. “What? You weren’t supposed to apologize!” Tara argued a little confused by Bryce’s turn. Bryce just shrugged “Um…Okay.” He said in his normal tone and pace. “So…What’s the catch?” Tara asked not believing that he would just apologize. Bryce looked at Tara blankly “Why must there be a catch?” He asked once again adding charm into his already charming voice. Tara couldn’t help, but smile “Well…It doesn’t seem like you.” She said making sure that she didn’t get lost in his eyes. Bryce flashed Tara a smiled and turned away “Nope it’s all me.” He said and then he was gone.
Meanwhile, Clair was attempting to keep Maria away from Bryce by telling her over and over again that ‘He would come himself and that there is no need to go find him.’ Which only worked for so long. “Seriously Clair, when is gonna get here? I’m not gonna sit here all day, doing absolutely nothing!” Maria complained in an angry tone. Clair sighed “Fine,” She paused to look at Maria, who looked angry yet calm “Go find him.” Clair said not wanting to anger her any longer. Maria smiled and then began to search for Bryce, which didn’t take very long because she had memorized his sweet scent. When Maria found Bryce he was leaning against a large willow tree, with his IPod on. “Hey Maria.” Bryce said charmingly as he looked slowly up from his IPod. Maria smiled and walked over to him “Hey babe.” Maria said in a sweet voice. Bryce smiled and put his arm around Maria “You know… I got pretty lonely when you left.” Bryce teased with a smile. Maria smiled and placed her arm around Bryce’s waist “I missed you too.” She told him as she smiled at him with her pearly white teeth. Bryce smiled back at Maria and then wondered if he should turn off his IPod or not. He knew Maria didn’t mind, but he thought that she might want to talk a lot, and he knew he wouldn’t pay attention if he had his IPod on. After pondering this for a moment or two he turned off his IPod and smiled at Maria, who had an eager look on her face “I have a surprise for you.”
