Chapter 5

“What?!” Reggie exclaimed pacing back and forth as if he was ready to fight.

“This is crazy. All this stuff happening? Someone’s gunning for me and Lita and I have no clue why!” I said placing my head in my left hand.

We both just stood there silent in a train of thought. I shook my head and broke the silence, “Well I gotta go to the grocery store. The world keeps spinning and I’m alive.”

“Hell no Jay that person ain’t got caught yet! You just got shot at and you’re trying to go out in public!?” Reggie said making perfect sense. But I was a no limit soldier. He knew that from the beginning, I was a straight up risk taker.

“I feel you Reggie but you know me! Ain’t nothing, and I mean nothing, gon’ stop me from getting my shit done.” I said getting up to prepare to go shopping.

Grocery store

I placed some Special K cereal inside the cart and kept looking around still a little afraid from the event that just took place. I turned the corner and brushed into another person’s cart. “Sorry,” I said then looking into the face of the owner.

It was Marissa. “Hello again!” She shouted enthusiastically.

“Hi! How have you been?” I asked politely even though I could really give shit.

“I’ve been great hun!” She said eyeing an aisle she was just about to pass up.

“That’s good to hear,” I said getting ready to push my cart onto the next aisle.

“Wait!” She said digging into her pocket. “This is my card,” She said handing me a card with information about herself and her company on it. “Use the number to contact me. I’ve been meaning to talk to you.” She grinned.

I took the card and placed it neatly into my pocket. “Will do,” I said smiling. She gave me a satisfying grin and strolled away, leaving me wondering about what she wanted me to call her for.
