Chapter Four:

The stairways to the garage have never been fixed. In ten years, never. The leaky pipes continually drip into black discarded puddles on the concrete floor. A drowning pool of black tears. Fumbling with my keys, I feel a presence in the dark corners of the garage, and I wasn't in the mood to see who it was. Opening the car door and climbing in, I took a breathe...deeply. I needed to prepare myself of what was coming, what I was going to see.

Starting the ignition, I turned my head around to find an older man, with the grey lifeless eyes. Just standing there. Slowly he turned to his side and began to shuffle along out of the drives way. I shook my head and thought nothing of it. New York was full of homeless people, of course your going to come across one, I thought to myself, no biggie.

...Switching on my car computer, the co-ordinates of the crime was clearly 10 minutes away. Typing furiously, I sent a message to the cap, that I was on my way and should be there soon, and to make sure that no body touches I think till I was there to give the okay. Suddenly something caught my eye...a woman stumbled out onto the road with her stomach gashed and bleeding quiet heavily. Breaking immediately and overcome by shock, I sat there watching her stumble over to my car.

"What happened", I shrieked as I ran to her side.
"She's dead! Oh my god, Oh jesus!"
"Just calm down and relax and tell me what hap..."
"SHE'S FUCKING DEAD!"
"Oh jesus, your bleeding profusely...get in the car!" I screamed slowly lowering her into the back, lying her down, and grabbing a couple of towels from the truck.
"Apply pressure. You hear me! Don't fall asleep. I'm taking you to a hospital just hang on"

Slamming on the gas, a huge cloud of smoke existed from the back of my mustang as I screamed up the side of the street. Urgently calling the captain, I had to explain my situation. They would have to go on without me.

Fuck...lines busy. I could hear her still screaming in the back of the car. Nothing made sense. Something about giants. Something about jesus. Something about a legless woman. I just had to keep both of us calm.

"We're nearly there ok, now you just hang on, ok, you hang on."

Yes I can see the hospital. Calling one of my friends there, bernie. He should be on tonight. Furiously tapping the buttons on my phone, praying he would pick up.

"What's your emergency?" the lady on the other end exclaimed calmly.
"I have a woman in the back of my car with multiple stab wounds to her stomach and one on her upper thigh, she need medical treatment immediately!"
"Bring up the front in the ambulance zone, we'll have doctors waiting"
"Thanks"
"There waiting for you, ok, we're going to make it, I just need you to hang on, okay? Still holding pressure? Miss?"

Turning around I notice her starting to close her eyes

"Don't you dare!!!!"
