So Is It Faith (3)

Romance Created on 11-21-07 Views(188) Story Rating G

I continued to work till six when I decided it was time to leave. I cleaned up my desk and noticed the business card sitting there. I picked it up and slipped it into my wallet just any case I get the urge to call him. I walked out of my office and towards the elevator. I pressed basement button on elevator which is where the employees parked. As the elevator door opened, I climbed out and walked to my car. I drive a blue Honda Pilot. It is not a bad car, even though it sucks down some gas. That is to be expected though. I bought it a couple of years ago, after I totaled my two door Mercedes. I got beat up pretty bad from the accident, but nothing compared to my best friend, Michael Thomas, in the passenger seat. He died instantly. It was such a traumatic incident. He was the only person I could say I truly loved. I never told him that though. I now wish I would have. I blame myself for what happened even though the police officer working the case said I did nothing wrong. I just think all the time that if I hadn’t had such a small car the truck that hit us wouldn’t have ended up on top of the passenger side of the car. It didn’t make it any better that the Mercedes was a convertible and did not have any supporting rails. Since then I have vowed never to drive a small car again. It took awhile for me to drive again. I finally realized I would have to drive some time or another, so I got an SUV. It is not a big vehicle, but it is big enough for me to feel safe in it.

Well I finally get to my car and get inside. I do my usual of flipping through the stations before I put it in reverse and head home. The ride home seemed like it took forever. I don’t live far. As I said before I live in town, but the traffic is horrendous. Especially being that it was the late afternoon, many people were headed to restraints, movies, and such. That is what sucks about working in the city. Whether you live there or not you still have to drive through this mess.

I finally arrive home. I sit my purse on the table by the door and then head for the kitchen. I place a TV dinner in the oven then head for the shower. I love showers. They relax me so much. I take two a day. One at night to wash away the day and relax me before I got to sleep and one in the morning to wake me up. I get out, dry off, and put on my normal sleepwear, a big t-shirt. I get my dinner out of the oven and carry it to the living room, where I eat most of my meals. I grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels while I ate. I laid there watching television for a couple of hours before finally falling asleep. I woke up at three from an ache in my back. I panicked at first not realizing where I was, and then I figured it out. I got up and headed towards my bedroom. I laid down but could not sleep. The thoughts of the day before went through my head. After an hour had passed I realized I was not going to be able to fall asleep so I got ready and headed to work. I arrived around 6:30. The offices where still empty, which was normal until eight or nine. I went to my desk and started my daily tasks. Then the phone rang.
