So Is It Faith (5)

We drove and drove for what seemed like forever. We drove away from town and away from reality. I started to get scared at first, but then he smiled and all worries were gone. He headed down a dirt road that had trees on both sides. It was very beautiful, well what I could see was. Darkness was creeping up fast. It was completely black before we came to a stop. The road had ended at a beautiful cabin that overlooked a lake. The leaves were all shades of colors which made the setting that much more beautiful. He opened my car door for me and held out his hand for me to take. There wasn’t much conversation during the drive, but I hope would change soon. He led me up the porch and inside the cabin door. It was huge on the inside. Everything was black except for a light over the kitchen table that was set for two. The aroma coming from the house made my mouth water. He kissed my hand and led me towards the table. The setting was perfect. He walked over and pressed a button on his CD player and music started playing. It was such a soothing type of music. No words, just melody. Nothing like I am used to listening to. It was peaceful though. The whole setup was perfect. From the crystal china to silverware you could see your reflection in. A white table cloth covered the table and on it were red rose petals. He went to the kitchen and served both of our plates. It was steak au proive with potatoes and mixed vegetable. We drank wine and laughed as we ate. We started off with small talk about my work and his. We laughed and giggled about how we met. After we had finished eating, he asked if I’d like to watch a movie. I told him I would love to. We walked to the living room, he picked out a movie while I got comfortable on the couch. He sat down next to me and put his arm around me. He picked Pearl Harbor because it was one of his favorite movies. He didn’t talk much during the movie. I just sat there enjoying being so close to him. I didn’t want the night to end, but I knew it could not last forever. The movie ended and I gathered my stuff for him to take me home. We made the most of the ride back. We talked about our childhood and our families. I told him that I had one sister, that my father had died when I we was young, and my mother remarried four different times. I told him of the fights I used to have with my mother and how I couldn’t take it no more, so I moved out when I hit fifteen. My sister stayed and has been mad at me ever since. She is two years younger than me and my mother wouldn’t let her move with me. Yet my sister hated me for it. He told me how he was an only child and was sent to boarding school year after year. How he never really knew his parents because they were never around. They died a couple years ago when we has 28. He said it was a tragic car accident. We both sat in the car in silence thinking about our past. I broke the weird moment by throwing my hands around his neck and pulling him in tight. He wrapped his arms around me and just held me for a few moments. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and then motioned me to get out of the car. He walked me to my apartment and we said our goodbyes. He wished me a goodnight and promised to call me the next day.
