So Is It Fate (8)

Romance Created on 11-26-07 Views(199) Story Rating G

I, still laying on the couch began to cry. I was confused as to why he didn’t want me. Is it the same reason he did not call yesterday? Is there something he’s hiding? I had never been turned down by any guy. The pain this caused stuck me deep. An hour had passed and I had heard no word from him. I finally pulled my self up off the couch and headed towards the medicine cabinet in the kitchen. I pulled out two Tylenol PM and a bottle of water from the fridge and headed towards the bedroom. I picked my phone up from the table and took it with me incase he happened to call. I took the pills, drank the water then crawled in bed. I spent the entire day and all of Saturday night in the bed. By Sunday morning I was over being upset about the situation, instead I became angry. I got up bright and early and got all my anger out at the gym. I was there two and a half hours and was worn out by the time I left. I decided against going home and instead headed toward the office. I figured I would kill some time and it would get me away from the house for the day.

I continued to work for hours. I got so much work done, it was unbelievable. I looked in my inbox to see what accounts I had left to do. There was one single file left. It was Nate’s. A tear emerged from my eye and down my cheek. I tried to brush it away but more started coming. I thought about the last couple of days and how they had been the best and the worst days of my life. Nothing made since to me. I decided to leave work and head home. I could not bare the thought of working on his account after yesterday. I decided I would tell Mr. McCoy first think Monday morning to reassign the account.

I made my way out of the office and to my car. While walking to my car I noticed something was different, yet I could not pin point what it was. I felt as if I wasn’t alone. Like someone else was there. Like someone was following me. I started rummaging through my purse trying to find my keys. I finally found them just as I was approaching my car. Then, from the corner of my eye, I saw a shadow emerge. I hurriedly opened the car door and jumped inside. I put the car in reverse and rammed the gas. I put it in drive and went to pull off when I noticed a piece of paper stuck to my windshield. I started to panic. That meant someone was here. I was not alone.  Somehow someone had gotten into my car in order to place the note on the inside of the windshield. I pulled the paper off and threw it into the passenger side floor board. Nailing the gas, I sped as fast as I could until I was out of the parking garage and on the main road. I drove all the way home in a panic. I found myself continually looking in the rear view mirror to make sure I wasn’t being followed. After what seemed like forever, I pulled up to my apartment. I turned the ignition off and laid my head on the steering wheel and cried. I managed to bring myself to, grabbed the note and exited the car. Opening the apartment door brought the same feeling I had in the parking garage. I quickly locked the door behind me and headed toward the coach. A shrill ran up my body as I unfolded the note and read..
