School was supposed to be my sanctuary away from all this unexpectedness. But Sam was ignoring me and hadn't talked to me since the accident. Most of the school knew about what happend and constantly stared at me. I had no one. Lexi,Kristen, and Chloe thought I was going to be the next Amber and didn't want to find me dead. That was fine by me. I was fine by myself. At least, I hoped I would be.
"It sucks doesn't it."I heard a girl's voice from behind me. Meaghan, the blonde bimbo I had met my first day, came and sat across from me at my isolated picnic table. I preffered sitting outside for lunch instead of the crowded cafeteria. "To have people think you're this plague on earth."
"I don't care what anybody thinks."I was waiting for her to start her unpleasant rant.
"That's what I said. Then someone makes up a dumb rumor about you and pretty soon you're the object of everyone's conversations. In my case, the object of every guy's sick fantasies."she had a disgusted look on her face.
"That's a new one."I said sarcastically. How could she not expect to be put in guy's dirty thoughts? She looked like an amateur Playmate.
"Look, I know I was a bitch. I just learned from the best, you know. My stepmom trained me at an early age so here I am."
"I'm not a lesbian."I said uncomfortably. If she wasn't here to be rude then what was she here for?
She started laughing."Honey, I have a boyfriend. You know, Sam?"
"Oh yeah."Somehow, he had failed to mention this to me. "Has he said anything about me? I think he's mad."
"He's probably just upset. Sam's dad died of an overdose when he was younger. Why do you think he started using? Luckily, his brother gave him a fresh start here."
"Wait,"I crunched my forehead together in confusion,"his brother? Of course, Mr.Jacobs."And then I remembered the woman's voice talking to Mr.Jacobs. She wasn't just talking about his mother, but Sam's too.
"You didn't know that? I think that makes you the first one in this entire school to not know that. Most people figure that out at least by their second day."
"So is he a nark? Does his brother send him around spying on people or something?"
"No. Mr.Jacobs isn't like that at all and neither is Sam."I must have upset her because she sounded mad. She sighed and smiled."Not everyone in this world is out to get you, Rebecca."
"Only the sane one's."
"Did you know that Lexi and Trent broke up?"she said changing the subject." He's fresh on the market."
"You better go talk to him then. Sam might not like it though."I laughed at what she was trying to do.
"Not for me. For you. He was talking about you too. I think that's why they broke up. Lexi isn't someone I'd trust. She does that you know, makes you think she's your friend and then all of a sudden, she stabs you in the back. At least I tell it like it is."
"She's not like that."I said defending the one girl who had basically taken me in.
"If you say so. Trust me, I know from experience."she said getting up and leaving.
Stupid,stupid,stupid,stupid girl. What little I had shared with Sam was probably shared with Mr.Jacobs too. And Meaghan, out of all people here, had to reveal their relation to me and that I was being used by Lexi. This was like any other high school; backstabbing people and queen bees.
"Miss Owens?"Mrs.Thomas said to me in class.
"Yeah?"
"Do you know the answer or not?"
"Oh..umm what was the question?"I was in a daydream and had forgotten where I was.
"Try to pay attention next time. Miss Yang, hopefully you're awake."she said talking to Lexi.
"Not all of us are vampires."she said shooting me a dirty look."Ab to the third power."
What a bitch. I hadn't had to deal with this since last year in my freshman year at my old high school. The girl next to me had passed me a note. It was from Lexi.
Okay. I couldn't wait for this. Probably a Q and A about Trent. I crumbled up the note and threw it in my bag. Everyone was so eager to get out of class today. They all rushed outside before I even got up. Mrs.Thomas stopped me before I left the class.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah. I was just a little tired."
"Well get some rest. You'll need it for the test tomorrow."
I completely forgot about the test."I will do that."I said walking out of the door. It was dead quiet in the halls. It was like a scary movie. When I walked outside, I realized why. Everyone was in multiple crowds staring at me as I walked out. Lexi was waiting for me by the docks when I walked up. She had a bitchy smile on her face.
"I didn't think you would show up."she started putting her hair up. "Are you scared? Not as scared as daddy though right? You always talk about him in your sleep. Is he your boyfriend?"
"Fuck you."I began shaking and dropped my bag. Everyone was crowded around us listening in. She rushed at me and hit me in the eye.
"Stop it."I heard Meaghan's voice. We were rolling around on the ground.
"No. She wants to act like a stupid little cunt."I said regaining my position on top of her. I was so numb and I was really pissed off. My fist met her face many times before she started bleeding. For someone so tough, she couldn't fight. She had one hit on me and was pulling my hair. Luckily for me, my hair was short. Everything went black and I just kept hitting her.
"Get off me bitch."she said crying.
"Fuck you!"I said screaming in her face before I was pulled off of her. She didn't even get up when I was pulled off of her. I tried to go back at her but someone had a strong grip on me."You stupid bitch. Just wait until I see you again."
"So this fight like symbolizes last night for me lol....Most of us have had a fight or two or more in my case and know how it goes. I was getting a huge adrenaline rush when I wrote this because it took me back to a couple of my fights with stupid girls.....lmao"
