“We’ll keep an eye on her for tonight, she seems to be doing better though.”  I looked around. It was hard to see and when I tried rubbing my head, wires were pulling me in every direction. My parents were sitting on chairs beside me, and Jason was there too. This confused me so much. How could he be there.  “Are you feeling better Kass?”  He said, as he winked at me.  When he did that I knew everything would be alright. I took a glass of water that was at my bed side, and I took a sip. My ring was gone. The ring Jason got for me..it was gone. Crap. Who found it and where is it…was what I wanted to ask, but in case my parents didn’t know about Jason, the real story of him, I didn’t want to say a word.  I looked at him, searching for answers, but there were none, I’d just have to wait it out.  “Why am I here” I said, my voice hoarse. “It was nothing big…your fine now. The doctor said you can go tomorrow if everything goes okay tonight.”  My dad said, standing up.  “Well your mom and I are going home for tonight…we’ll come back in the morning. See ya.”  He said as they walked out. Jason stood up and closed the door. “What is going on?”  I said sitting up in the bed, slowly adjusting myself because everything hurt.  “Shh nothing” he held up the ring and handed it to me.  “I didn’t want anyone to find out.”  He said pulling his chair closer to my bed. “So what time do you have to leave here?”  I said as they brought in dinner.  He laughed looking at the food.  “Ummm I thought I’d stay the night if you want me to.”  I nodded slowly, eating some of the food. I spat it out into the napkin.  “This tastes like shit…..so what’d you tell my parents.”  He stood up and threw away the napkin.  “That I was Sara’s brother and she couldn’t come so she asked me to.” 

“Uno!” I laughed holding one, green 4 in my hand. “Ahhh you got me” he grinned pulling a card from the deck. “Ha, plus 4, take that.”  It was fun being with Jason, especially in this way. Just hanging out, playing a card game with each other. It was nice. “I give up, I’m beat.” I said putting down my cards.  He took all the cards and out them back in the box. “Alright then, well go to sleep.”  I smiled, “But I need a goodnight kiss first.”  He leaned in close and kissed me. “Now go to sleep.”  He said turning off the lamp.

Next morning….

“You can go now, everything’s in the clear. We’ve prescribed you some anti-biotics…here is the prescription.”  The doctor said handing the paper to my mom. “Mrs. Pillhart, can I take Kassidy to get her medicine. My sister wants to see her so we’re going to meet and get ice cream.”  He said so gentleman like. “Please say yes.”  I pouted, poking my lips out for dramatic affect.  “Fine, but be home in time for bed.”  She said handing Jason the prescription. We walked out and he opened the car door for me. “So where to?”  I said adjusting the seat so I could lay back.  “First to drop off your prescription and then to Sara’s house. She said we could go over there and hang out until she gets back. Her mom won’t be home until late late.”  It kind of made me sad. A few months ago Sara’s father died. It was surprising and shocking to everyone. So her mother works extra hard, even though with the money he left they could make it by with ease.

“Sara?”  Jason called through the house, even though we knew she was at school.  He closed the door behind me, locking it.  “Come on” he said taking my hand leading me to her room.  He shut the door, and laid me on the bed. I held my breath, scared. I didn’t know whether I was even ready yet.  I knew deep down that I really didn’t want to, that I truly, honestly wanted to wait until marriage. And yet I didn’t want to disappoint Jason.  He took my hand and kissed it, looking down at me. He leaned down to kiss me, letting his tongue go around freely in my mouth. Heat filled up the room, and it was only just starting.  He kissed my neck, going down to my chest. He pulled off my shirt, and his tossing them away. He continued kissing me.  He put his hands behind my back and started unlatching my bra. I pulled back, “I can’t.”
