When will we learn?

Tragedy Created on 4-18-07 Views(941) Story Rating G
Ok, So you’re an adult (if not imagine you are) and you just sent your only child off to school. While your at work, listening to your favorite radio station a special broadcast announcement comes on telling you that schools around your neighborhood have been taken over by terrorists.

It was obvious, the reason they picked the schools. We can’t even protect our schools from ourselves yet alone terrorists, and it would seem that they realize this.

Suddenly, schools across the nation become taken over, millions of innocent children are being murdered just because of where they were born. People begin to fear not only sending there kids to school, but even letting them out to play. The youth of the nation, being kill off, or hiding for there lives. The kids missing out on the education and there childhood, the best days of there lives destroyed so easily.

Scared to leave your house, not knowing if they were taking over the streets as well. Your child crying because they are stuck inside. Inside your dying seeing your child’s childhood so painful.

Whose to say this cant happen? It’s bad when you wouldn’t be able terrorists but even worse when you can’t protect it from your own kind. Regular people who go to school with your kids, possibly even good friends with them turn out to be terrorists in there own personal way.

Now imagine you’re a kid now, no older then 17, sitting in your last year of high school before you set off into the real world. All of a sudden masked men walk into your classroom, bearing guns. You know instantly that everyone in that room is sentenced to death, so now, all those years of school a waste only to die months before graduation. You think these men are terrorists but as they put you against the wall, they remove their masks, only to reveal themselves as the group of kids you hung out with in middle school, this being before you got to “cool” to hang out with them.

Nothing seems to make sense anymore, your old best friends, why would they do this? Maybe it was because since you got to good for them, even you began to bully them, make fun of them, making there lives hell.

It’s amazing how fast life can change, terrorists everywhere now, just over a war. Old friends throwing there lives away and taking many more with them? And for what? Bullying, people know the damages. People have seen the damages that this has done around the world, but yet they still do it. When will we ever learn?

joshattack I don't think this is so much a story as a hypothetical situation. Here's the good news, because of course, there is a lot of it. I really like it. It is a real view point that reminds me of a poem I wrote. Did you happen to write this in the wake of 4/17? (I'd also like to tell you that this could so easily be made into a good performance piece of poetry. So if you cntinue to work on it, tell me. I'd love to red more drafts.) also, I must say that this does raise such a great point that is hard to ignore. don't let anyone tell you it's clichee or anything either, because, between you and me, they're wrong, at least in the sense of clichee being a bad thing. If you think about it, all clichee truly imparts is lacking of originality. In my mind, every line is new and important to the writer; so, even if other people have written about the same thing before, it just shows how in tune you are with everyone else, and how strong of an influence something truly had. I really hope all of this makes sense. hahaha.

onaipwolf You did a pretty good job writing it, and I basically agree with you. You do however, have some incomplete sentences and some grammar problems, but nothing major. I also think you could have expanded your idea a little bit, but it is interesting.

until we all quit needing to have someone else to blame because our lives have turned out sucky, it will stay this way. However, when we realize,,hey shitty things happened to be, but I'm not going to let that define who I am inside, because it is not!! We have to then stand up on shacking knees and do the hardest thing youll ever have to do,,take responsibility for your own actions, right or wrong, they are yours and you need to own them. I feel when we will all be able to do that, we'll be okay,.
