Learning to Fall. [05]

"Great. We're stuck at the top." Leona muttered under my breath. It hadn't been as bad as she figured. He was still annoying though. They were letting more people onto the ride and letting people off.

"So, what school do you go to Leona?" Austin asked.

"Huh? Oh.. East Lawerence High, you?" Guess that would spark a conversation.

"East Lawerence? How come I never see you around?" He asked.

"Because I'm always either actually in class or at my meetings." She said not even looking at him, but gazing over at the lake two miles east of the carnival. The moon casted a bright glow and the stars speckled it. It was gorgeous.

"Oh here we go again, the 'I know exactly how you are so I'm going to classify you along with all the other jocky, arrogant, guys that only want slutty girls. Thanks Leona."

"I didn't mean it like that. I just guess we don't have any classes together." Leona said saving herself. Yes, she did mean it like that. Who wouldn't?

"I guess not."

They started walking back, didn't drive because they knew it was going to be a beautiful night and could look at the stars. Austin was carrying Bekah, she passed out not even halfway home. Austin couldn't carry her much longer, so they stopped at the bench nearby and Austin sat down and put Bekah on the side of him. Leona decided to just lay on the sidewalk and stargaze. Austin looked at her like she was crazy and shook his head.

Leona had been laying there for about five minutes when Austin layed Bekah down completely on the bench and got beside Leona. She glanced over at him and smilied a bit and scooted over. After about five minutes of laying there, Leona began to shiver.

"Hey, are you cold?" Austin asked.

"Yeah, kinda. I left my sweater on my love seat." She replied.

"Here," Austin raised up and took his jacket off and handed it to her. "I'm not that cold."

"Are you sure?" She asked taking it and slipping it on. He nodded his head and they continued to gaze.

"Au..Austin?" Bekah asked from the bench raising up. Austin got up quickly and knelt over at her side.

"You ready to go home and get to sleep?" He asked.

"Mhm." They continued walking home and Leona still managed to stare up. When they were nearing their houses, Leona began to doze off a bit.

"LEONA!" Austin yelled, but it was to late..
