In the Eyes of a Cheater .03
|
I have been living here with Greg for at least two months now. Markus has written me everyday, telling me about life in the army. I miss him, but I really like it here. The guys nicknamed me Alice, saying my hair looks like the girls from Alice in Wonderland. Before I moved here, it was red. But I decided to change it and dye it blonde. I started wearing more makeup, eyeliner and mascara. Me and the guy that was talking to me that one day in the computer room, later fount out his name was Heath, have became really good friends, set aside his cockiness and alter-ego.
"Hey Alice, we're going to the park, you up for it?" Greg asked me.
"Yeah, you know I love going there with yall. When are we leaving." I asked.
"Soon, go get ready, and wear something warm, fall's almost over and winters pretty much here." I nodded and headed upstairs. I picked out a cute shirt with a tie at the side and a pair of blue jeans. I put on a pair of boots that Greg made me get, saying that I might need them down here. I applied some eyeliner, leaving the mascara off this time. I curled bits and pieces of my hair, making the orginal waves hard to notice.

We left soon after, it only took about twenty minutes to get there. We sat on the swings, waiting for all the other guys. We talked about random things, until he just had to bring Heath up.
"Do you like him, Aly?" Greg asked. He still called me Aly instead of Alice.
"Greg.. I don't know," I replied, turning towards him to were I was straddling the swing. "It's just, I get these feelings in my stomach, feelings I've never got with Markus. Don't get me wrong, I do love Markus and I do miss him. But, I don't think I was ever IN love with him. Maybe I just married him because that's what everyone else wanted. Not me.. I didn't live for myself then. Just everyone else. But that's certainly bout to change, I give you my word on that."
"I understand. Look, no matter what, I'll support whatever you do. Your like the little sister I never had. Heck, I probably love ya more than my own blood brother." He chuckled. "But if you really like him, go for it. Damn. That sounds horrible." I laughed.
"Oh look, it's the guys." I said nodding towards the trucks that just pulled up. Heath and Michael walked up. Michael was Heath and Greg's best friends.
"Hey guys, what's up?" I asked.
"Nothing, just got back from hunting. Heath here can't shoot a gun to save his life." Michael replied, nudging Heath in the side.
"Man, I told you I'm not much of a hunter." He replied.
"Come on, let's go play football." Greg said getting up and punching Michael in the arm playfully. Heath smilied at me before running off with the guys. Gah, he was amazing. Maybe I was starting to like him.. But, is that wrong....
