I slammed my car door as I walked into Lane's Cafe. It was the best one in town, seeing as my mother owns it. She's always been interesting in cooking, she even used to teach a food dynamics class before I was born. Anyways, I plopped down on a stool, resting my head on the cold bar. My mom walked out from the back, whipping her hands on her apron.
"Your back earlier, how was dance?" She asked. Yes, I dance. I'm also a gymnast, but dance is more my thing. Alot of times, I get asked if I strip. It's annoying. It also gets annoying when people say being a gymnast is good for being in the bed. yeah! sike.
"Because Madam Marcee was being a little witch, so I just left. But on my way out, Gena was calling me and I couldn't find my phone. So I ran into a wall." I replied, rubbing my temples.
"That really bad sweets, but sorry I can't talk longer. The schools football game is over and theres bound to be some customers. Could you give me a hand? Your sister ran off to God knows where." She tossed me a rag and left to the back. I sighed and went behind the counter.
-20 minutes later.-
Surely enough, the game had ending, the home team winning. They came in hopping and hollering, acting like there was no tomorrow. I growled lowly underneath my breath, knowing was was going to happen next. There was a large screeching noise, and the sound of chair legs sliding across the floor. My mom shook her head as she walked back out. She handed me a note pad, and nodded her head towards them. I slowly walked over, but was completely oblivious. I whistled loudly, but only a few people turned their heads.
"Shut up!" I screamed. All heads turned towards me, suddenly becoming quiet. "Now, can I just know what you all want?" I said in a lower voice.
"Yeah, just make sure you don't run into a wall getting our order." A voice came out from behind me. I turned around, and noticed the guy from the dance studio.
"Whatever," I said, rolling my eyes, "Now, your orders?" I asked. They gave me the list of everything they wanted. I glanced over a few times, to noticed that the jerk was starring at every so often.
I went to the back, and put the pad on the counter. My mother was talking to my dad, he had obviously just came in. They both walked over to me, standing on either side of me.
"Midnight, we have a question for you." My mother inquired. I nodded my head. Midnight as a name, i know, right? But, it was different so that's why I liked it.
"Theres a new girl starting dance at the studio for gymnastics, and Madam Marcee just called and asked if you could tutor her." Dad asked.
"Um, whatever. I don't care. Tell her I say it's fine, as long as she stops correcting everything I do." I say, getting up and walking out to the front, getting a few stares, and out to my car to head home.
