" yea mom" i said looking up at her with puppy eyes.

" you probably know by now that we were at that carnival" she said folding her arms.

" yea junior told me" i said giving him the mean eye.

" okay first what is this i hear about you and tony being in a serious relationship, matter of fact what is this i here about you to sneaking off to the lake at night.

" we..." i said trying to get in a word.

" no...i don't wanna hear it...your grounded for a month... and i don't wanna hear you hanging around that tony boy unless it's hi or bye situation" she said stomping out the room.

my dad was quiet he then went and sat on the edge of my bed.

" amy can you give us a minute"

" sure " amy said speeding out the room.

" well first off i would like to say i thought it was kind of funny" my dad said chuckling.

" oh dad " i said playing with my pillow.

" i don't know how your momma thought you and tony was just friends i think she's just angry she's been left out of your life ever since you turned 16"

" no she hasn't" i said trying to plead my case

" now helen yes she has" he said giving me a no bullshi look.

" well... she has, but i havn't been trying to i just havn't found the need.

" well you need to she's your mother... oh yea her and mrs.robens got into a fight"

" what why!" i yelled.

"well...your mom made alittle comment about...how is tony serious about anything when he's not even serious about life after what your momma heard on the stage him being kind of extra sweet on you and you know they argued mrs.robens saying how her son is just as good as anyone...you know"

i stood up " tony is serious about us!" i yelled. " how could she think it was all all a joke being there when he got stabbed sure wasn't how could she make a comment like that!"

i said i couldn't believe i was saying this and what was worse tears started flowing down my eyes.

my dad stood up and hugged me.

" know were never gonna be together...ever"

" ssshhh sssshhh my dad said hugging me...it'a alright"

" dad iam just tired of having to prove our relationship to everyone thats all" i hugged him tighter i knew this emotional state was gonna come but not now.

" listen here pumpkin if you wanna see him i'll try with all my heart to make your mother understand"

" thanks daddy i love you" i said looking at the tear marks i left on his shirt.

my dad then left out as amy came back in.

" was we loud " i said.

" yes...very your mother was standing at the bottom of the stairs listening"

i then glared across the street to see tony getting on his motorcycle and mrs.robens chasing after him yelling.
