Courtney almost choked on he Diet Pepsi.

"What?"

"Courtney, I've missed you everyday that you've been gone. I jus want to know why you left."

"Jason, I don't feel com-"

"Please Courtney." He gave the puppy dog face. He knew she couldn't resist it. She never had been able too.

Looking down she started to explain.

"After the accident I couldn't stand people that I knew always looking at me with pity. Even Marie treated me different. I decided to pack all my things and hop in my car. I didn't even have a map. I jst kept going and going. I broke down in a town just south of L.A. You know how I've always wanted to go to Los Angeles. So I went and I fell in love with the city. It was the only thing that kept me from coming back and seing you. Man, you wouldn't believe how much I missed you Jason. Every time I even said hi to a guy your fac popped up into my mind and I felt really horrible."

She was twirling her straw in between her fingers as she spoke.

"That is until I meet Nick. I meet him at a Starbucks about 3 years after I left. He was in line in front of me and when he turned around he spilt very hot coffee all down my shirt. I was so pissed but when I looked into his eyes I saw your face and I guess I followed my head. He dosn't even mind the scars."

Jason was staring at his hands. He didn't know what to say. He felt so stupid for letting her leave. He should hav known that is where she had gone. She was always talking about going there. He was also very mad. It was his fault she had those scars. His fault she left him.
