Why Me? [7]

When I woke up I felt someone’s arms around me, I freaked out. I slowly got up and got out of my bed, to see Marcus lying on my bed asleep.

I calmed down and sat on the bed not facing him, looking at my desk. I felt his hand move up my side, which hurt even though he was being soft. I pulled away and slightly lifted up my top. I saw big bluish n purple bruises.

“What the fuck happened to you babe?”

“Nothing, don’t worried about it”

“Of course I’m going to worried bout it, somebody hurt you and I wanna know who!”

I turned and looked at Marcus. The expression on his face was angry but not at me, who ever hurt me. I wanted to cry but I couldn’t.

“It-it-it wa”

I started crying hard, I felt sore all over my body. I collapsed onto my bed, just lying there and crying. Marcus picked my up into his arms to hold me. I wanted to stop crying but I couldn’t I kept crying and crying. When I eventually stoped he asked me

“Who did it?”

“It was... my dad”

“Are you serious?”

“Yea why would I lie?”

“Ima be right back k”

“No don’t, just don’t worry bout it”

“Wut you think I’m gonna do? Sit back an watch diz happen to you? I don’t think so!”

He gently put me down on the bed and went into the unsuit bathroom (authors note:  there in no toilet in the bath room) and shut the door behind him. I quietly walked over to the and listened to what he was doing. I heard him dialling numbers on his phone.

“Hello”

“Umm I’d like to report abuse”

“My friend’s dad bashed her”

“Her names Rachel Lily”

“Hurry the fuk up she lives at 12 buttercup drive”

“Ummm yea she’s got some where to stay”

“Thanks”

He unlocked the door and walked out. I couldn’t believe what he had just done. Nobody had ever stuck up for me, not even my mother. I felt deep down that he really loved me, he was nothing like josh.

I hugged him, to feel the warmth, security and love. I was finally in his arms... Just as I let go of him I heard a loud bang on my door.

“DID YOU CALL THE COPS YOU WHORE?”

I was scared I knew if he got through the door, id be dead! So I ran into my walk-in-wardrobe and closed the door. This is where I hid every time, this happened and usually he’d find me. I was waiting for Marcus to come in but he didn’t. I was very worried because I heard my father come through my door, then I heard scuffling and yelling and my mother screaming, but I didn’t look out of the wardrobe. When everything was had calmed down I opened the door. I saw a cop dragging my father away and Marcus was being questioned. I closed the door back up and remained in hiding. After about 20 minutes the Marcus opened the door. I looked up at him with a blank expression.

“Babe the cops wanna look at the bruises...”

He knelt down and held at his hand, I grabbed it. I walked over to one of the police and she took me into the unsuit. I showed her all of the bruises, she was horrified. After about 30 minutes of questioning the police started leaving.

“You cant stay here with your mother, have you got somewhere to stay? Or do you need to go into foster care?”

I looked at Marcus and he looked at me.

“She can stay with me”

“Ok thank you sir”

Then they left. I walked over to my desk and grabbed my laptop. I put into my gym bag then I grabbed all of my clothes and a few pictures of my younger sister.  She got taken away last year because my father was hitting her to. Then I picked up my gym bag and we walked out of my room. Marcus took the bag and carried it for me. When we were walking through the lounge room my mother stopped us.

“HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US!”

“Fuck off mom, you know he’s been hitting me for the last 10 years an did you do anything about it? NO you didn’t I hate you, I’m just glad you don’t have Naynay anymore!”

We walked out the front door and down the street a little bit till we got the Marcus’s car. We got in the drove to his house.

When we got there we got out and walked up the first few steps when we realised the front door was open....
