Why Me? [8]

I sat down on her bed and put my bags on the ground. Steph walked over to her CD player and put in “stacks on deck”...  she could tell my head was all messed up an soulja boy “crank that” always made me feel better. I laughed when she put it in; I knew it meant I hade to crank it... She skipped a few songs till it got to “crank that”. I got up and she turned up the music then ran to stand next to me an we did our version of the dance. After about 1 minute dancing I heard a loud bang on her door... I cringed in fear; the sound was horrifying to me. I fell to the floor as I watched Steph walk over to answer it. To my relief it was her older brother Darren he was 18.

Steph: “WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!”

Darren: “nuthin jus wanted to see why your makin all dat noise”

Steph: “fuk off gawd your so annoying!!”

Darren: “fine.... hey Rachel”

Me: “umm hey”

Darren: “what are you doi......”

Steph: “get lost!!!! Gawsh....”

Steph pushed him out and slammed the door shut.

Steph: “oh my god he is soooo annoying!!! Haha”

Me: ha...ha...ha... yea....”

Steph: “can I ask you something?”

Me: “yea... of course”

Steph: “well I know you and Marcus are together but.... well why aren’t you staying with him? Not that I don’t want you here....”

Me: “well... I don’t know... I guess I’m scared he’ll turn out to be like josh an hurt me....”

Steph: “what do you mean?”

Me: “I found out he used to be in da 954 crew...”

Steph: “WhAt!?!?!.....”

Me: “I only just found out... I just don’t know anymore”

Steph: “ya know.... Darren was with them... I was scared of him at first when he came back but its all ok now”

Me: “I’ve already had abusive relationships.... I cant have another one”

Steph: “yeah I know... hey we should go to the movies.... stop the yard’s showing”

Me: “sure what time does it start?”

Steph: “umm not sure I’ll go look at the paper”

Me: “k I’m going to get changed”

Steph: “k”

Steph walked out and closed the door again. I picked up one of my bags and searched through my clothes until I found my cargo mini skirt and my blue boob tube... it sounded slutty but really isn’t.

I took off my top and bra and at the exact same moment someone opened Steph’s door and came rushing in. I screamed at who I saw standing before me.... Darren!  I quickly tried covering myself but there was no point... he had already seen me. I rushed the tube top over my head.

Me: “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!!”

 Darren: “uhh I....I was just....”

Me: “YOU COULD HAVE KNOCKED!!!!”

Darren: “I... uhhh... didn’t know you were getting changed....”

Me: “ugh... what do you want?”

Darren: “stacks on deck...”

I got up and walked over to the CD player and got out the CD and put it in the cover. I walked back over to Darren and handed him the CD. He looked at me as if he wanted something else which made me wonder....

Me: “what?”

He kind of snapped out of a day dream.

Darren: “huh?”

Me “you keep on lookin at me n not goin... is there something else you wanted?”

Darren: “uhh naw...”

He turned around and left closing the door behind him. I locked the door behind him and stomped back over to the bed and sat down getting a little bit frustrated . I finished getting changed and walked out of Steph’s room. I heard “crank that” playing in Darren’s room so I had to go see if he was any good at the dance. I walked down the hall and got to his door. It was half open so I could see Darren and about 5 other guys in the ‘tryin to crank that’. I couldn’t help my self I burst out laughing.... there dancing was pathetic! One of the guys stopped and looked over at me.

Trey: “wut you laughing at gurl?”

They all looked over at me wondering the same question.

Me: “Me...*giggle* nuthin obviously....*laugh*”

Darren: “naw waz so funny?”

Me: “your dancing.... are you trying to look like retards or is it just an accident? Haha”

Darren: “oh so you think you can do better? I’d like to see it....”

Steph: “are you coming Rachel?” Steph called from down the hall.

Me: “cant got to go...  but maybe later on..”

I grinned and winked at Darren... just messing with him. Then walked out. I heard random statements coming from Darren’s room like...

“DAAAAAAAUM YOU GONNA HIT IT?”  “DANG YOU SO LUCKY”

I even heard what sounded like howling... haha funny I know.

Steph: “what was you doing in there?”

Me: “haha checkin out ya brothers ‘move’s’ hahaha ya know he cant crank it like us!!”

Steph: “ haha yeah I know... I kinda feel sorry for him... haha”

Me: “haha me to”

Me: “so what time is it?”

Steph: “uhh.. pretty soon....”

Me: “wicked...”

We walked down the stairs and into the living room... And Marcus was sitting on the sofa... waiting...

I looked at Steph and she looked at me.

Me: “what is he doing here!?” I said trying to whisper.

Steph: “he just turned up... I had nothing to do with it!.... ima go back upstairs and get ready ok”

She ran off real quick. I didn’t know what to do.... I felt kinda weird around him now. I slowly walked over to him and sat beside him.
