Why me? [10]

He leaned over and kissed me... once again I felt kinda weird...

I pulled away... he looked at me as though I had just slapped him.

Marcus: “Babe.... what’s wrong?”

Me: “nuthin...”

Marcus: “yeah ders sumthin wrong...”

Me: “look I just don’t think we are working out... “

Marcus: “what? WHAT DID I DO?”He said raising his voice.

Me: “its not you... its me”

Marcus: “haha yeah I know how it goes... so josh was right... I’m not good enough for you”

Me: “uh.h...uhh... no that’s not what I said.”

He got up and walked out and I was left with a disappointed look on my face. I do love him... really I do! But I can’t go through what I already when through before. I sat slumped over on the sofa.

Darren: “why’d you do it?”

I turned around and saw Darren about a meter away from the sofa.... walking over to me.

Me: “itz none of your business!” I snapped.

Darren: “are you sure... are you sure you didn’t dump him for me” he laughed.

Me: “NO!... cocky much??”

Darren: “haha I’m jus playin with ya... don’t have to get so defensive”

Me: “what ever....” I mumbled.

He turned around and walked back upstairs.

I sat on the sofa... thinking... what had I just done?! I dumped Marcus because he “used” to be in a gang? That’s just stupid! I can’t believe I could do that.... hurt him like that... hurt myself like that...

I felt someone tap me on the shoulder; I turned around and saw Steph standing behind me with Darren and Trey. I saw 4 other guys leaving. My mouth dropped open... she wasn’t really going to ask if they could come was she?

Steph: “hey Darren n Trey are gonna drop us off k?”

Me: “uhh...hh...hh sure”

Darren smiled. I didn’t know what else to say.

 I got up; they started walking to the door. I saw trey’s arm around Steph’s waist and I smiled. I figured they must be together.

 I walked through the front door and I got half way down the front path when Darren slipped his arm around my waist. I grabbed his hand and pushed it away. I quickly got into the black escalade and closed the door. Steph was next to me and Trey was in the passenger and seat in the front Darren was in the driver’s seat.

The drive was pretty quiet, I didn’t talk much, I was thinking about the ‘Marcus thing’.

When we got there, I got out and walked around to Steph.

Steph: “hey is it alright if they come with us n watch tha movie?” she whispered.

Me: “but ya know your brother is annoying me” I whispered back.

Steph: “come on... please I really wanna spend some time with Trey...”she whispered again.

I sighed... I couldn’t say no...

Me: “fine...”

Steph: “thankz...” she said with a huge smile on her face.

We started walking into the cinema. Darren put his arm around my shoulder. We walked through the doors and I saw him... with her! 

Marcus... with her! Marcus with the school slut!!

I felt my heart drop... it felt like being stabbed a thousand times...

Darren saw the reaction on my face... he could tell I was hurt.

He took his arm off my shoulder and held my hand...tight

I felt a tear roll down my cheek...

Steph and Trey were buying tickets and Marcus and Brydie aka school slut were buying popcorn... I couldn’t take my eyes off them...

Darren was still holding my hand and watching me, he wiped the tear away from my eye.

I looked back at Steph and Trey, they were walking over with the tickets.

Steph: “so are you ready to go in?”

Me: “ye...”

Darren: “yall can go in I’ll be in there in a minute”

Steph, Trey and I walked down to the entrance for out cinema and waited for Darren.

After about 2 minutes of waiting we saw 2 security guards run back to the ticket part. I looked at Steph and she looked at me. I knew it had something to do with Darren, Trey sprinted down back to the other area. I watched him running... I started walking slowly in the same direction.
