Why me? [11]

I took one step after another.... then one of the guards stopped trey.

I didn’t want to go any further. I didn’t want to know what was happening. I didn’t want to be there, defenceless.

Trey pushed the guards out the way and ran around the corner. Steph was still standing right next to me.

I started walking faster and faster... the guards tried to stop me but I did the same as Trey, I pushed my way through.

I saw a group of people... I could see about 5 security guards as well.

 I ran over to the group of people. I could see Darren on top of Marcus repeatedly hitting him but I could also see Brydie kicking Darren and hitting him. I didn’t know what to do.... I still loved Marcus.... that’s true, but I couldn’t trust him enough to be with him. But Darren defended my honour even when I couldn’t.

I pushed through people to get to Brydie. I punched her in the face then in the stomach then in the face again. She grabbed my hair and tried to slap me, but I ducked. I tackled her to the ground and punched her where ever I could.

I felt some one grab my arm and pull me off her, it was Darren.

He pulled me while running outside, then Trey, Darren, Steph and I ran to the escalade. We quickly got in and drove off....

This time Darren was in the back with me and Steph was in the front with Trey driving.

It was a quiet ride, I couldn’t look at Darren, I just looked at my reflection through the window.

I knew Darren liked me... I guess I could just tell... but he didn’t have to do what he did. I still loved Marcus with all my heart.... but now it felt all broken inside. Why did he have to get with Brydie? Why? If I had only had a few days to think about everything... I would have got back with him, but now he wouldn’t ever take me back... not ever.

And once again I was feeling hurt, except it’s not physical this time, its emotional.

And I remembered I had to go back to school tomorrow. Wow I hated school... the only good part was getting out of English for cheer practise. But then again... I get to see Brydie and Beth oh and don’t forget Josh and... Marcus under the oak tree. I really didn’t want to go back to school.

We arrived at Steph’s... I got out quickly and waited till Steph and Trey got to her front door then started walking to the door fallowed closely by Darren. I walked in and didn’t know what to do, Steph and Trey walked up stairs and closed her door (to do god knows what) and Darren was next to me looking at me, so I walked over to the sofa.... the same sofa that I was sitting on when I broke up with Marcus and I sat on it just hoping that Darren wouldn’t sit next to me. My hopes were crushed... he sat right next to me and smiled. I still had a broken expression on my face... I doubted it would change. The only thoughts that were running through my mind were... ‘Why me? Why me? Why me?!’ Darren put the television on.

Darren: “what do you wana watch?”

I didn’t reply I couldn’t reply, I couldn’t talk to him, he ruined what I could have fixed.

Darren: “he shouldn’t have treated you like that... you deserve better then that”

Me: “and I suppose your better then that hey? Listen to me very carefully! I love Marcus! I always will! And in my opinion he is and always will be ‘the one’!”

I got up and ran up stairs into the bathroom. I shut the door behind me and locked it. I put the toilet seat down and sat on it and began crying.

After about 5 minutes of crying I heard a knock on the door...

Darren: “please open the door... I really need to go!”

I rolled my eyes and walked over and opened the door. He quickly came in and shut the door. I needed to get out... I wasn’t going to stay in the bath room while he’s on the toilet.

Darren: “sorry... I lied but you wouldn’t have let me in if I said I wanted to talk...”

Me: “look just get out and leave me alone!”

I pushed him out of the way so I could open the door but I was quickly stopped by Darren when he kissed me...

It was magical... you know when you see snow flakes fall for the first time in winter... well that’s how it felt.

But I pushed him away.

Me: “what tha hell was that!!!”

Darren: “well... it was a kiss but I thought you knew what they were.”

I pushed past him and opened the door then ran down the hall. I walked down the stairs and out the front door. I didn’t know where I was heading towards but I didn’t really care either.
