Once Upon a Time (Thirty-Three)

Authors note: So I forgot to mention that when Armelle was climbing up Bliss’ tail into the top of the tower she had to remove the shield and sword because they were chunky and got in her way. So she has been defenseless since then. I apologize for forgetting to include that tad bit of information.
Anyway, here is an extra long part for you reading pleasure! Please remember to comment and vote J
“What are you taking about? I didn’t do anything to her!” I defended myself.
“Shut up.” He dragged me backwards into the forest, his knife still against my neck.
I obeyed him, not wanting to anger him and risk receiving a slash across my throat.
My mind raced with the possible ways to escape, but none of then seemed possible. To try and fight him in the position we were in I couldn’t see working at all. I could try to fling my leg back in-between his legs but I doubted I could get enough power to actually bring him harm. And I couldn’t slip away because of the knife at my neck. So I was trapped.
That though weighed heavily on my mind. How was I suppose to go save Kainen when I’m being kidnapped by this monster and from what it sounded like, being taken to a witch.
I was so frustrated! I should’ve been with Kainen by then, but that idiotic Aleron had to ruin it all again. I wished he would just crawl in a hole and die so I could live in peace.
We had been walking for quite a while, not another word spoken between us. It was sometime around the middle of the day but the thick canopy of trees filtered out the sun except for a few patches of stray rays of sunlight.
Just as my thoughts were beginning to really irritate me and make me try to fight him no matter what the risk, he stopped and shoved me down a hole I hadn’t noticed.
I landed on my side into the cold, solid ground. There was a sharp pain that shot through my body, making me unable to move. Through the pain I heard a thump from beside me; Aleron had jumped down. He took one look at me and then I felt a kick at my back.
“Get up.” He commanded, crouching over and placing the dagger at my back.
Slowly, I pushed through the pain and rose back to my feet, a bit wobbly. We were in a dark damp thin tunnel under the forest.
“You’re a pig.” I spat as soon as I had gained my balance.
He pushed me up against the wall and pressed the knife to my neck again.
“You keep your mouth shut, or I will deal with you myself.” He threatened. Then he grabbed my arm and shoved me in front of him.
“Walk.” He ordered, putting the blade to my back again.
I complied. A jolt of pain shot through my body every time I put pressure on the leg I had landed on, causing me to limp.
I fumed silently. That creep didn’t deserve to live, and I didn’t have time to follow his rules. I had to get out and find Kainen’s soul!
With that I decided I had to at least try to get away, and quickly spun around, swinging my leg up to knock the knife out of his hands. Almost instantaneously, he lunged down to grab it just as I had aimed to do the same. But he was quicker than I and soon had the dagger clenched firmly in his hands. He pounced on top of me, holding me down with all of his weight. There was fire in his eyes as he stared down at me, holding the knife above my head. I tried to grab it away but he swiftly snatched at my hands and held them against the ground in one big fist. He brought his head down to my ear and hissed, “Don’t you try doing that again.” I could feel the cold metal of the knife being pressed in slightly just below my collar, pulled along to leave me with a small cut. “That’s a warning.”
Then he quickly got up and pulled me up after him, quickly rotating me around and pushing me forward. The cut on my neck hurt and I brought my hands up to try to determine how bad it was. It didn’t seem too deep, but there was quite a bit of blood.
I knew then that there was no way I could fight him, and wished desperately that some miracle could have happened and Kainen could come save me. Though even if he was alive again I had no idea how he’d find me. It was hopeless.
I trudged along the tunnel, Aleron right behind me.
Several minutes later he commanded me to stop, grabbing my wrist tightly as he moved aside me and opened a door in to roof. There was a ladder on the wall beneath it and he rapidly clambered up it with me in tow behind him. As soon as we reached the surface he shut the trap door and I noticed it had been covered with dirt and leaves so it blended in with the forest floor.
He dragged me behind him and soon we reached a dark building. It was quite plain and looked like it was made of some sort of metal, and I noticed that there weren’t any windows. 
He knocked hard on the seemingly metal door.
“Who dares passage?” A booming voice asked.
“It is I Aleron, I have successfully captured the princess.” He informed and I heard a click and the door swung open.
Aleron pulled me though and I noticed that it was almost a foot deep. Obviously someone didn’t like visitors.
The inside was extremely dark, with only a few candles here and there emitting light. They seemed to be getting less sparse, however, as we moved in deeper into the building. Soon I noticed that the floor and walls weren’t black but a very deep crimson red. I might’ve been wrong, but it seemed strangely like blood.
“You’ve made it!” A familiar voice cried out excitingly, and I immediately recognized Nyxali.
I growled at the sight of her.
“Ooo. You are a fierce one. I’m shaking in my boots.” She said sarcastically, throwing her head up and laughing.
“What do you want with me? I thought we were finished before!” I took a step forward and Aleron instantly grabbed my arms to keep me from getting any closer, instead letting Nyxali glide toward me, looking amused.
“You think I would give up that easily?” She chuckled. “Oh no, I just wanted to have a bit more fun. I thought you were too weak to actually save him.” She was only a few feet away from me.
“But you were wrong.” I scoffed.
“Yes it seems I was. So now I get to have a different form of fun.” She smiled evilly. “Hook her to the machine.” She ordered and then I was being tugged to the side and shoved on to a table. I tried to twist away from Aleron but he was too strong, and quickly had my hands and feet strapped down.
Then he was walking away from me as Nyxali walked up. “Don’t forget to scream.” She laughed then stepped away again.
I heard something being pulled down and I strained my eyes to see that they had had a cage of glass around me.
My heart was thumping out of my chest. What were they planning? It had to be something they didn’t to affect them, and it clearly wasn’t good.  
“Release them.” Nyxali ordered as Aleron tugged down at a rope I hadn’t noticed before.
Just then I heard some sort of door behind me open and then my ears were filled with the sound of growling. Big furry creatures strolled threateningly out in front of me and I quickly recognized them as huge wolves like the one I had been attacked by before. Like the one Aleron killed.
I shivered.
They were snarling at me like I was food. I faintly heard someone shout, but my attention was more focused on the threat around me.
Suddenly one jumped and scratched my arm. He must have been the chief wolf because the others quickly followed his lead and I was being scratched and bitten all over.
I screamed; the pain was unbearable.
It seemed like it lasted forever but it was only a couple seconds before I felt someone pulling off the restraints and lifting me off of the table. The wounds hurt so bad I couldn’t even focus to figure out who my savior was. But it didn’t really matter as long as I was getting out of there.
He moved quickly and fast, not giving the wolves any time to hurt me any more. I felt him crouch over me as if he was going through a small door before he started running through some dark tunnel. Soon we were out in the sun, and he changed directions.
I felt weaker by every passing moment, blackness trying to engulf me but driven away by the sting of my injuries. 
Trying to ignore the pain, I held myself tighter to him, a familiar scent filling my nostrils. Kainen.

williamscott7 Am I the only one who sees just how unlikely that is? First of all, what are the odds that the spirit would ACTUALLY find Kainen? Then, what are the odds that he'd be walking around in that forest? Finally, what are the odds that he would come across the hole and think, "Hey! A hole! I'm gonna go inside and possibly find Armelle in there!" Ah well. Still a great story! Although, you should probably explain in the next episode exactly how Kainen found her. Keep me posted!
