P.S. I Love You [12]

It was junior prom. At the front door I saw Jenna waiting for me, she asked me, “Did you read the note?”

“No. but I am going to tell him that I did.” I explained starting to walk in, but Jenna put her arm across the doorway and said, “Before you go in I am just letting you know that I am not going to be there to bail you out.

“I won’t need it.” I said putting down her arm and walking in. There was Chad waiting for me. We took our picture then he went to get some punch. Just like every boyfriend would do at a dance or prom. Dustin comes up to me and asked, “Did you read the note?”

“Yes I did.” I told him

“I can’t wait.”

“Me neither. This is going to be fun!”

“Yeah.”

            Dustin turned around and went to Jenna. They were each other’s date even though they don’t like each other. I was just dancing with Chad. This was turning out to be a great day. No drama just fun. Then I saw Dustin walk up on the stage. As he was about to say something Jenna yells out, “DUSTIN DON’T DO IT SHE DIDN’T READ THE NOTE.”

            Dustin was confused and asked me, “Is that true? You lied to me?”

“Yes, I just didn’t want to make you sad.” I explained

“Telling the truth would’ve been better than this.” Dustin ran off the stage and out of the room. I ran after him. I stopped him in the hall way. “Dustin I would’ve read the note but I was scared that I would have to choose between you and Chad I couldn’t handle it.” I explained

“You could’ve at least told me the truth.” Dustin said

“I am sorry I guess I am just scared to say what I want to say. Or to show my love for someone.”

“Let it out I will understand.”

“Dustin, I love you.”

“I love you too.”

            We both hugged each other. Eventually we ended up kissing as Chad came out into the hall looking for me. “What are you doing kissing my girl?” Chad looked like he was ready to fight.

“Chad, it’s…” He cut me off

“Stay out of this Serenity.”

            The next thing I knew they were fighting over me. I was scared and didn’t know what to do. Once again I wish I could close my eyes count to 3 and everything would be gone. Jenna saw what was happening and got a teacher. Mr. Gordo stopped the fight. I broke up with Chad and well I guess Dustin and I are dating.

“Omg, everyone voted you and Dustin cutest couple.” Jenna said very excited

“We just started going out a second ago.” I said a little weirded out

“Yeah, but everyone is talking about it.”

            Dustin walked up to me and Jenna left. Dustin said, “Why don’t you read the note and we do what it says.”

“Okay.”

            I went to my locker took out my folder and opened up the note. The note said

Dear Serenity,

            Its time for the junior prom and I know you are probably going with Chad, but can you promise me that you will give me one spotlight dance. It would mean a lot. Anyways I think its time I tell you something…

p.s. I love you.

            I stood there not really surprised just happy. I was hoping he was the one who was writing the notes. I ran up to him gave him a hug and we kissed. “So you were him all along.” I said.

“Is there something wrong with that?” He asked putting a big grin on his face.

“Nope.”

            The rest of the night was wonderful. Now I am just excited that Dustin and I are going out. Nothing can go wrong now.
