Chapter 14

Once Jason and I reached out into the pasture behind the building, there was a horse, a lot different than the other horse I saw. We crawl over the wooden fence that surrounds it and walks up to the horse.

"This is Penny. Kendra thought of the name, I didn't." Jason explains.

"So that means that it's your horse?" I ask.

"Mostly Kendra's but we claimed her as both of ours." he replies, hopping onto Penny. "Hop up," He held out his hand.

"What if I hurt the horse?" I question worriedly.

Jason just laughs, but I didn't think it was that funny at first. "You won't hurt her. I'll help you up. Grab onto my hand and then I'll pull you up."

He holds out his hand for me and I grasp tight onto it. He pulls me up on the horse and I was sitting right in front of Jason. The horse jerks slightly and it made me screech. I feel like a total embarassment right now in front of Jason.

"Rose, you'll be fine. I've got you." he states, as I felt his rough hands around me. I smile.

Jason grabs a hold of the reins I think they are called and Penny was trotting, slowly. I feel a little uneasy being on the horse, but being right there with Jason made me ease down a bit. Suddenly, I notice my head was leaning back against Jason's shoulder as we were still trotting, but it got a little faster after a while. Jason looks down at me and smiles.

"You look relaxed." he chuckles.

I let out a soft giggle, as I felt the horse starting to gallop. It startled me and I got up off of Jason's shoulder.

"I reckon that Penny has the urge to run, so hold on." Jason tells me.

My eyes widen. The pasture was huge, but I wouldn't have thought that this horse could run for miles and miles.

Five minutes later

All of a sudden, Penny comes to a short stop, which made me think I was going to be thrown off this horse.

I let out a deep breath. "Wow, this horse surely has a lot of power." I said.

"Oh yeah! I know..." he responds, as he jumps off the back of Penny.

I turn my body around to the side that Jason jumped from and hop down next to him as he held out his arms and caught me, incase I would fall on my face. Slowly, I felt tension run through my entire body, as I look into Jason's blueish-gray eyes. He smiles, but I didn't do anything.

Right now, I just want to pull him closer to me and kiss those wonderful country boy lips of his, but I know I'd probably freak Jason out. I don't want to do that. Even if Jason was ok with us being a couple, I wanna take things slow.
