Chapter 14

“Guys, if this has anything to do with Tanner, just forget about it, ok?” I retorted at Travis and Jesse, knowing that is exactly what they were waiting to tell me. I dropped my medium size, teal striped, Coach purse on the couch and walked passed them to go back to the bed room, nudging them with my shoulder to get the out of the way. I didn’t want to act preppy about all it, but they were seriously getting on my nerves with me and Tanner.

“Kay, we know Tanner is just doing this to keep us out of the picture for doing anything to you.” Jesse said, as him Travis followed me back to the room.

“How many times do I have to freaking tell you two? I’m not a little girl anymore. I can handle my actions on my own. Tanner is really a great guy, and I am still going to be with him, whether you two like it or not.” I snipped turning around to face them in a prissy mood.  “Now, what I think we should do is drop this convo, and get ready so we can practice, ok?”

They stared at me. I knew they didn’t care about that at the moment, but I did and I really wanted them to get off the subject with Tanner.

They didn’t say anymore, so they went to they’re rooms and got ready for practice. I didn’t really do anything, but put make-up on and grabbed my guitar, which my parents got me as a birthday present when I was fifteen. It had my full name engraved in it, Kaylee.

Anyway, once I thought that I was the first one ready, I happened to be the last.

“How long does it take for you to get ready, just to practice?” Travis laughed. They were both acting like what we said before we got ready, never even happened.

“Hey, it takes awhile for me to put my make-up on.” I told him. “No let’s go. We really need to get practicing.”

As soon as we got downstairs, Tanner was waiting by the white tiger.

“So, are you guys ready?” Tanner asked with a joyous smile on his face.

“More than ever,” I replied, putting my arm around him. He did the same.

“Are we supposed to tell the lady up at the front desk that we are ready?” Jesse questioned, looking at the two of us.

“I’ll take care of it.” Travis said.

The three of us watched as Travis walked up to Gigi at the front desk. I felt Tanner’s arm being wrapped around my waist. I happened to look up at Jesse, when he did. He was just staring at me, mouth gapped open a bit, just startled a little. I stopped looking over at him at saw Travis making his way back over to us.

“So, where’s Dave?” I solicited quickly.

“He said that he’d meet us here in a bit. He had a guest issue you and he said that he will be here as soon as he can.” Travis explained. “Speaking of him, here he comes.”

We all looked in the same direction, turning around to see Dave walking up to us.

“So,” Dave said, loudly. “Are you ready?” We nodded. “Then follow me this way.”

Dave guided us down a long dark corridor, which was kind of creepy. We ended up in a pitch dark, cold room. Where are the lights? The dark is starting to scare me. I said to myself. I couldn’t see anything, not even if I waved my hand in front of my face.

Suddenly, the lights flipped on, rows after rows of them..

“Here you go.” Dave said, cheerfully.

“Wow,” we all retorted in unison.

It reminded me of my old school auditorium, but bigger. A giant cherry-wooded stage we performed on, and blue fold-up cushion chairs for the audience.

“It’s amazing,” I whispered, looking around in amazement.

“Yes, I know isn’t it?” Dave stated, assumed the he heard me. “Believe it or not? I actually built this stage with my bare hands.”

“Get out!” Travis said, shocked and surprised that Dave would do any of this.

“Yep.” He replied. Suddenly, we heard Dave’s name being called up on loud speaker. “Well, I guess I better go. Use anything you like drum sets, guitars, you name it.” He started heading for the door. “Take all the time you need.” Then, the door shut.

“Well, let’s get started.” I suggested.

“Yeah, we’re wasting time to practice.” Jesse looked up at the clock on the wall behind him. “It’s already ten after five.”

“Wait? Aren’t we suppose to tell John or not?” I asked.

“We don’t need him around bothering us more than we have to. Besides, we have Tanner.” Travis murmured.

I knew that wasn’t a good thing that Travis was getting at, but Tanner wasn’t bothered by it at all. It made me mad knowing that they were still on Tanner about me and him.
