Chapter 25

That next day, I was lying in my bed as the morning sun shined right in my eyes making me wince. I turned around and looked at my alarm clock. It was 10 o'clock. I normally don't sleep in that long, but every New Year's I do.

I threw the covers off of me and turn to head over to my closet to pick out something nice to wear for the day. I took like ten minutes to find teal polo from Old Navy and my favorite dark wash skinny jeans. I went over to the bathroom in my room and looked in the tiny mirror. My hair actually wasn't too bad. I just pulled it back in a low ponytail.

I walked out of the bathroom, out through the door to my room and went down the stairs. I could smell crispy apple wood bacon filling the entire house. I was in love with bacon. I paced into the kitchen to find no one there. I figured I was late for breakfast, so I grabbed a apple out of the fridge.

"It's about time you woke up," my sister, Jessica laughed.

I jumped. "Gees girl don't scare me like that. You'll give me a heart attack."

She just laughed and walked out the back door. I glanced out the kitchen window to see her boyfriend, Mike, hugging her and kissing her. She was 13 and some how manages to get guys. For me, I had a hard time.

It was 2:15 in the afternoon and we were having out New Year's party over at the McGraw's today. Also so we can watch the first week of playoffs. I always loved football. I wanted to play football in school, but I couldn't because I was a girl. It pissed me off but I just let it go, because I loved music better.

As everyone was out in the family room watching one of the football games, I decided to go outside. It was cold, but it sort of felt nice. Plus I didn't even have a jacket on. I took a seat out of the stairs on the back porch. I look out to the long field that had been abandoned for quite sometime now.

Suddenly, I heard some yelling coming in from the house, of course it could have been them cheering inside, I don't know. That's when the back door opened. I gawked my head and saw Jesse looking down at me. He had his Carharett on, but handed it to me because I was outside with short sleves on like a dumb ass.

"Thanks," I said, taking his jacket out of his hand as I put it on.

"So what are you doing out here alone, while everyone else is inside? You still like football, don't you?" he asked.

I laughed. "Of course I do. I just needed some air is all."

A long pause came along for about thirty seconds.

"So did you have a good time last night?" Jesse questions.

"Yeah, but the strangest thing happened though." I retorted.

"Oh?"

"Yeah, someone kissed me." I told him.
