Chapter 8

The very next morning, I finally get some sleep in my own house. It's actually very irritating to know that I have to go over to Jasmine's almost every night. She was probably a little uneasy knowing that I wanted Leila and Connie to come with us at the cove today, but I really don't see why it is such a big deal to her.

I roll out of bed, placing my feet on the soft amber carpet. I didn't pick out the carpet. I wanted to change it since I moved here, but we never had enough money for that. I get up while scratching my head and head for my closet and grabbed some clothes. Then I go to the bathroom the get a shower. I come back out in my white and blue Hawaiian flower swimming trunks and a green graphic tee that said Venice Beach on it.

I head out into the kitchen and see my mother putting eggs and bacon on the table for me.

"No thanks mom. I'm heading to the cove with Lucas and a few other friends." I tell her.

"I don't care, you still need to eat." she states, demanding me to sit down and eat my breakfast. I know how much she hates when I say that and she gets mad because she doesn't like wasting food.

I sigh and sit down and chow down on my eggs and bacon as well as the OJ sitting next to the plate. Five minutes later, I get off the seat, take my plate and finish the last drop on OJ and place them both in the sink. I thank my mom for the wonderful breakfast and she kisses me on the cheek before I grab my surf board and head out the back sliding door. Lucas always tells me to meet him at the cove, but know that it's more than just the two of us, I wasn't to sure.

I call him up quick on my red enV2 as I look out the the gnarly waves which put me in a trance quick.

"Hey man just meet me here. Everybody is waiting on you," he says.

"Everybody?" I ask, shaking my head while looking away from the waves for a brief moment.

I can hear laughing in the background. "Yeah, just get over here."

He hangs up on me before I can even say anything. I rush quickly to the cove which isn't too far from my house. Once I get there, I see Lucas and Leila laughing and caring on. It's a bit odd.

"Hey it's about time you get here," Lucas hesitates, walking up to me giving me a fist pound.

"Sorry, my mom insisted that I eat breakfast," I announce, feeling a little confused for some reason.

"Aren't you suppose to wait an hour before you get in the water?" Leila questions and her and Connie both look at me.

"Nah, we think that's just a myth." I reply with a chuckle.

"Watch what we can do," Lucas tells the girl as they both giggled.

It was all very strange. I paused and waited a couple seconds before heading after Lucas to the water. Did I miss something or are they like all over Lucas?

"Do are you coming?" Lucas shouts.

"Yeah," I retort, running out into the water.
