Chapter 11

Waking up to the sweet sound of seagulls, smelling the aroma of bacon and eggs for downstairs in the kitchen, and the sunlight hitting my face, sure was a wake up call, but a nice wake up call. I crawl out of bed and grab a pair of jeans and a Plan White Tee's shirt from my dresser drawers and literally fly downstairs into the kitchen, on the urge for some real breakfast.

"Hey sleepyhead," my mother greeted me for at the stove and walking over with a pan of eggs, and flopping them onto my plate, giving me a kiss on the cheek. "No surfing this morning huh?" she adds, walking over to the sink.

"Nah, I really wanted to sleep in today, instead of getting at six every morning. Besides, it's summer. I want to relax and have fun as much as possible." I inform her, digging in to the scrambled eggs, devouring it as if I hadn't eaten anything in days.

She smiles, pacing over to the table and sitting next to me. She doesn't say anything until after breakfast, just to tell me to have fun today. I nod and head out onto the beach. I notice Leila and Lucas sitting out on the beach, but they weren't just sitting and talking. It was more like their tounges were doing all the talking. No lie. They are practically making out right before my eyes. I feel a bit hurt, but I brush it away. I mean they both just met each other, why would they be doing this now?

"Ah-em," I butt in, as both of them gasp and pull away and Lucas got off of Leila, as she started brushing the sand off of her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to alarm you." I grin.

"No, that's ok," Leila gasps, glancing up at me. "I better go."

"No it's fine, babe stay here." Lucas smiles. Babe? Since when do you call a girl you just met babe? "Did you hear the news?"

"What news?" I retort, confused but curious on what Lucas was talking about.

"We're together." Leila cheers, as if they were getting married.

"Oh."

"Aren't you happy for us?" Lucas grins, getting up off the sand, and helping Leila up in the process.

"Um- yeah why wouldn't I?" I fib.

For some odd reason, I wasn't happy about this one bit. Do I seriously have feelings for Leila, while I have a girlfriend? Maybe I'm just jealous of Lucas for having a... a perfect girl.
